Garden Party: Tessa and Martin Rees are again inviting everyone to their colourful garden party among the rhododendrons at Kensworth Gorse on Sunday 27th May from 2pm to 4pm. Wander round the garden, enjoy a delicious afternoon tea and tip a glass of wine or a soft drink with family and/or friends. Tickets cost £5 per person from Tessa or Martin (873117) or Isobel Randall (872552). Proceeds to Whipsnade Church funds.

Whipsnade Concert: An enthusiastic audience enjoyed a lovely concert by the St Mary’s Spring Quartet and Chris Hazell. Many thanks to all who attended and particular thanks to Robert Kendrick who planned and organised the event.

Whipsnade Summer Fete: To be held on Saturday 23rd June from 1.30-4pm in the churchyard, to raise funds for the church. If you would like to be involved as a stall holder, helper then please email or visit the parish link Facebook page. Help and donations would be appreciated for the following stalls:- bottle stall, book stall, plants and produce, tombola, quality white elephant, plate smashing, cake stall, refreshments.
Plans are in progress for a Dog Show and other entertainment.

Royal Visit to Whipsnade Zoo
150 Whipsnade residents responded to the invitation from ZSL to welcome HM the Queen, the Patron, and HRH the Duke of Edinburgh. It was the Queen’s first visit (she visited as a child in 1993 – HRH has been four times previously, including in 1997 to open the new ‘elephant barn’). Parish Council Chairman was invited as a guest to attend the unveiling of the plaque.
